This is a dog from a police force it is used in training for the army etc. I read about it the other day. They have no depth perception so is not cruel.

No depth perception! Most predators have depth perception, if the eyes are towards the front of the head then that animal most likely has depth perception of some degree. Deers do not have very good depth perception (eye on the side of head) however they can see almost all the way around themselves.
